Social reposts

TikTok, Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube Shorts and SoundCloud links become a styled card with the actual media attached: what each platform does differently, and how to turn one off.

Paste a TikTok, Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube Shorts or SoundCloud link and Righteous can turn it into a proper repost: the video or audio downloaded and attached directly to the message, styled into one consistent card, instead of everyone in the channel waiting on Discord's own (often broken) link preview. It saves people leaving the server to watch something, and it means a video that Discord can't unfurl on its own (most TikToks, most tweets) still plays right there in chat.

What gets reposted

Two ways to trigger it: run the platform's own link command (,tiktok <link>, ,twitter <link>, and so on, see each command's page for its exact syntax), or paste a link in a message that @mentions the bot. The @mention path needs Attach Files and Embed Links for whoever posted the link, and deletes their original message once the repost is up. Either way, the guild's per-platform toggle and the size of the file decide what actually posts.

Instagram works too, just not on this page

Instagram reels, videos and carousels repost the same way, but the card looks different enough (author, caption and counts, up to 10 images for a carousel) that it has its own guide: Instagram reposts.

Twitter/X: GIFs and photos render as what they are

A tweet posted as a GIF is downloaded and re-encoded into a real animated GIF. Twitter itself never serves one; it serves a silently-looping MP4 that most bots just repost as "a video." A tweet with photos attached reposts as the images themselves, not a video. A text-only tweet, or one with nothing downloadable, falls back to a link Discord can unfurl on its own.

TikTok also looks up profiles

,tiktok isn't only a repost command: hand it a username instead of a link and it looks the profile up instead. That lookup isn't reposting at all, so it keeps working even with TikTok reposting switched off for the server.

Righteous itself posts fixer-proxy links (fxtwitter.com, vxtwitter.com, fixupx.com) when a video is too large to attach, and rxddit.com/vxreddit.com the same way for Reddit. All of those are also accepted as input: paste an fxtwitter.com link you got from someone else and it reposts exactly like the canonical twitter.com/x.com form.

YouTube only reposts Shorts

The YouTube command reposts a Shorts link (under 3 minutes) with the video attached directly. A regular, longer YouTube link isn't something this feature downloads. Discord's own unfurl already handles that case well, so the command's real job there is search: run it with a topic instead of a link and it browses results.

Download buttons: Self Premium only

A YouTube repost carries a Download Audio button, and a SoundCloud repost carries a Download button, both pull the audio out and DM it to whoever clicks, and both require Self Premium. Everyone can see and play the repost itself; the extra download is the paid part.

Turn a platform off

,config social toggles reposting per platform. Needs Administrator.

Syntax

,config social <platform> [on|off]

Example

,config social tiktok off

<platform> is tiktok, twitter, reddit, youtube, soundcloud or instagram. Leave the on/off state out and it flips: run it again with nothing after the platform name to turn a disabled platform back on. The slash form is /config social, with the platform and an optional on/off as its two options, and the same toggles live on the Social Links page of the interactive panel: ,config panel or /config panel.

Auto-delete a repost

,config socialdelete deletes every repost in the server automatically after a fixed number of seconds, up to 600 (10 minutes). 0 turns it back off.

Syntax

,config socialdelete <seconds>

Example

,config socialdelete 300

A single repost can also carry its own ++delete <seconds> on the command that made it (,twitter <link> ++delete 60). Whichever is shorter, the per-message flag or the server's configured default, is the one that applies. A per-message flag can only shorten the wait, never lengthen it past what the server allows.

Why an unknown platform toggle means "on"

This is the one gate in the bot that runs backwards from every other permission and toggle here. Reposting shipped switched on, so a guild with no stored preference (a brand-new server, a platform added after your server was set up, a database read that comes back empty) is read as enabled, not disabled. Everywhere else in Righteous, "I don't know" resolves to the safer, more restrictive answer; social reposting resolves the other way, because the restrictive answer here would be reposting silently stops working for a server that never asked it to. Only an explicit ,config social <platform> off turns a platform off. Nothing else can.

Reposts feed the /fyp shuffle

Every repost made through the @mention path is saved to a feed, and /fyp (also ,fyp, ,feed, ,random) pulls a random one back out — the author, the caption, the counts, and a link to the original post.

The feed is shared across servers

/fyp is not scoped to your server. Anything reposted by mentioning the bot anywhere Righteous is can come back out of the shuffle, and anything mentioned in your server can surface elsewhere. Use the repost command directly (,instagram <link>) instead of the @mention if you would rather a link stayed put.

Syntax

,fyp [source]

Example

,fyp tiktok

[source] narrows it to one platform: tiktok, twitter, reddit, instagram or youtube. The slash form adds a from: option to show only posts a particular member shared.

Only the @mention path fills the feed

Running the repost command directly — ,instagram <link>, ,tiktok <link> and so on — reposts the link but does not add it to /fyp. Mention the bot with the link instead if you want it in the shuffle. SoundCloud is never added, because the feed is built for video.

Common issues

A repost never posts, and no error shows either. Check ,config social for that platform first. The platform's own link command (,twitter, ,tiktok…) tells you outright when it's disabled; the @mention-a-link path doesn't reply at all when the platform is off. It just doesn't repost, silently.

A repost is a plain link, not a card with the video attached. The file was too large to attach to Discord directly. The bot falls back to posting the fixer-proxy link so Discord can at least unfurl it into a player.

The Download button on a repost says I need premium. That's expected. See Download buttons: Self Premium only. The repost card itself is free for everyone; only the extra audio download is gated.

A repost from someone else's server-shared TikTok/Reddit link doesn't disappear when I expected. Compare the server's ,config socialdelete value against any ++delete on the specific link command that posted it: the shorter of the two wins, never the longer.
