Features that need premium but don't say so
A class of features is checked when you use them rather than declared on the command, so they carry no badge anywhere. Here they are, with the tier each one needs.
Most paid features announce themselves. The command declares the tier it wants, and that declaration
is what puts a badge on its reference page and a line in ,help.
A smaller set does not. These are checked at the moment you use them, inside the handler, and a
check like that is invisible to anything that reads the command's declaration, which is everything
the command reference is built from. So they carry no badge, ,help says nothing, and the way you
find out is by being refused.
This page exists to close that gap.
Why these features are declared this way
Nearly every one of them is a command where one handler serves a free action and a paid one.
,lf update is the clearest case. Running it bare
refreshes your Last.fm library, the thing every member does, and the tail of
,lf set. Running it with history walks your entire scrobble
archive, which is a very different amount of work. Declaring a paid gate on the command would paywall
the free half and stop people linking an account at all, so the check has to sit inside, per action.
The same shape produces the rest of this list: a free on/off with a paid appearance setting, a free monthly report with paid cadences, a free voice message with a paid file type. The refusal always names the tier it wants, so nothing here is silent. It is just not discoverable in advance. That is what this page fixes.
One more gap worth knowing
,help prints Server Premium and Premium in a command's Extra field, but does not print
Self Premium at all. So a command that genuinely declares Self Premium still shows nothing in
Discord. The reference page on this site is the surface that carries it.
Last.fm
Scrobble history and self-crowns: Self Premium

purge is free deliberately: charging somebody to delete their own data would be the wrong line to
draw, and ,lf reset already removes the same data for
free.
A history sync is on a five-minute cooldown of its own, separate from the command's normal cooldown, because a full walk is a very large number of requests. A top-up on an already-complete history is cheap and is not charged against it.
Server-wide Last.fm settings: Server Premium

The digest is the subtle one. Every server gets one listening report, monthly, at no cost. Server Premium buys the cadence (weekly or daily) and the count (up to three digests, one per channel). The tier is re-checked when the digest actually posts, not only when you configure it, so a lapse between the two stops the paid cadence rather than posting anyway.
Scrobble timestamps: a purchase, not a boost

,lf timestamps adds a "when" to every row of
,lf recent. It accepts Self Premium or Server Premium
and specifically not Boosting Premium: it is one of the few features where boosting is not
enough. It used to accept boosting and was deliberately tightened.
The setting is re-read on every render, so it is never wiped on a lapse: it just stops having an effect, and starts again when the tier returns.
How much of a list you see: any premium
Several Last.fm lists are capped at their first page for free accounts and paginate fully with any
premium tier, boosting included. ,lf recent shows ten
entries rather than twenty; ,lf top tracks and its
siblings render one page.
Nothing refuses here, which is why this one is easy to miss: the command works, it is just shorter. Being in a Server Premium server is enough.
Voice and music
VoiceMaster presets, trust and block lists: Self Premium

block do carry a Self Premium badge on
their reference pages, but the part that catches people is not the badge.
The tier is checked again when a preset is applied, not only when it is saved. So a saved preset
stops rebuilding your channels the moment Self Premium lapses, even though the preset itself is still
there and preset view still shows
it. Nothing is deleted; it resumes on renewal.
Trust and block lists behave the same way, and they keep applying even when a preset is paused with
preset toggle off.
24/7 voice: Server Premium
Syntax

,music 247 keeps the bot in a voice channel after everybody
leaves. Turning it on needs Server Premium; turning it off is free, so a server whose premium
lapsed is never stuck with a setting it cannot clear.
It is Server Premium rather than personal premium on purpose: parking the bot in a channel indefinitely is a cost the server incurs, not the member.
Feed webhook identity: Server Premium

Feeds normally post as Righteous. source makes them post under the followed account's own name and
picture, and custom under a name and picture you set. Both need Server Premium, and so does setting
a name or an avatar, including the server-wide default shared by both feed types.
Switching a feed back to off is free, and so is reading what is configured, for the same reason
24/7 voice works that way: a server whose premium lapsed is never stuck with a setting it cannot
clear.
The gate is checked inside the handler because one command serves both a free action and a paid one,
so no badge can describe it. A lapsed server does not lose the setting: the feed keeps posting,
just as Righteous, and ,twitterfeed info
shows the stored setting alongside the fact that premium is what is currently overriding it. Renewing
picks it straight back up.
There is a second reason a feed can post as Righteous while set to something else, and it is not a
billing one: Righteous needs the Manage Webhooks permission in that channel to create the webhook it
posts through. info names whichever reason applies. In both cases the post itself still arrives.
Audio modes: any premium
Syntax

server has one set.
Server management
Concurrent giveaways: two free, ten with Server Premium
A server may run 2 giveaways at once for free and 10 with Server Premium. Nothing on
,giveaway says so; you find out when
,giveaway create refuses the third one. Ending
or cancelling a running giveaway frees a slot.
Log webhook branding: Server Premium

Autorole history window: a higher ceiling with Server Premium
,autorole history restores a returning
member's roles. Turning it on or off, checking its status and setting
,autorole history duration are all free on every tier: nothing about configuring this needs a
purchase. What Server Premium buys is a higher ceiling on that duration, 48 hours instead of 12.
Asking for longer than your server's own ceiling is refused rather than silently capped, and it is
listed here rather than badged because the gate is a number that differs by tier, not an on/off
switch a badge could show.
Utility
Transcribing an uploaded file: Self Premium
Syntax

voice message: reply to one, or run it bare to catch the most recent one in the channel. Self
Premium buys the other file types: uploaded mp3, mp4, wav, m4a and the rest.
The paid thing is the file type, not the feature, which is exactly why no badge could express it.
Repost cooldown: any premium
Reposting a TikTok, Twitter, Reddit or YouTube link has a per-member cooldown of 60 seconds, which drops to 15 with any premium tier (boosting included). The refusal says so when you hit it.
How to tell before you buy
Three habits cover almost all of this:
- Read the refusal. Every gate on this page names the tier it wants, and the names are precise: "Self Premium" never means boosting, and "Server Premium" never means your account.
- Check
,donate. The perk lists there are maintained alongside the features and are more complete than any badge, including for everything on this page. - Press "My premium" on the
,donatecard. It reports what your account and the server actually hold right now, and where each entitlement came from, which is a better answer than working backwards from a refusal.
If a feature is refusing you and it is not on this page and has no badge, that is worth reporting in the support server (opens in a new tab): it means a gate exists that nothing documents.
Common issues
A command worked yesterday and refuses today, with no setting changed. A tier lapsed. The features on this page are re-checked every time they run, so they stop the moment the tier does, including the ones checked at apply time, like voice presets.
You hold Self Premium and a server feature still refuses. Server Premium gates the server. A personal purchase never unlocks a server-wide feature.
You boost the support server and ,lf timestamps still refuses. That one specifically needs a
purchase. Boosting does not satisfy it.
Your voice channels stopped using your preset but preset view still shows it. The tier is
checked when the preset is applied. The preset is intact and resumes when Self Premium does.
A Last.fm list looks shorter than someone else's. Free accounts see the first page. Any premium tier, boosting included, paginates it fully.
,lf server digest refuses a weekly cadence. One monthly report per server is free; weekly,
daily and a second or third digest are Server Premium.
